A Mission Born from Loss

Love From Afar Grief Recovery Agency was founded by Dr. Cynthia Williams, a dedicated advocate and visionary whose personal tragedy transformed into a lifelong mission to support others. After the loss of her oldest son, Christopher, in a car crash in 2006, Dr. Cynthia channeled her grief into action, establishing the Christopher Allen Williams Foundation and Parents Against Distracted Driving (P.A.D.D.). Her experiences have not only shaped her approach to grief recovery but have also led her to author impactful works, including "Concrete Soil" and "After My Daddy Left," which address overcoming grief and childhood trauma, respectively. Dr. Cynthia's contributions have been recognized widely, earning her numerous awards including the President's Lifetime Achievement Award and an Honorary Doctoral Degree in Humanities.

Driven by a profound commitment to heal and educate, Dr. Cynthia has developed programs that reach across the country to assist families in breaking generational barriers and healing from past traumas. Her workshops and speaking engagements offer tools and insights for dealing with loss and adversity, empowering participants to transform their pain into strength. As a resident of Atlanta and a celebrated member of its community, she has been inducted into the Apex Museum of Women in History, a testament to her significant impact on empowering women and families to rise above their circumstances.

Today, Dr. Cynthia continues to lead Love From Afar with a focus on moral and ethical values, fostering unity and positive outcomes in communities. As a single mother of four, her resilience and dedication resonate deeply with those she helps. Through her roles as a certified teen life coach, mediator, mentor, motivational speaker, and Grief Recovery Specialist, she embodies the philosophy that one is "better healed than unhealed." Her leadership in P.A.D.D. and as a P.R.I.D.E. instructor further underscores her commitment to safety and proactive community engagement, inspiring countless individuals to overcome their challenges with courage and support.
